Supporting the local community

Emerald SES responds on average to 700 flood and storm requests for assistance every year.

The replacement truck responds to 80% of the 700 requests making it one of the busiest SES Rescue Trucks in the State.

The current Rescue vehicle is 15 years old and has passed its safe working life.  The Emerald SES unit purchased the Light Rescue truck 15 years ago through the assistance of community raised funds.

The total cost of the new vehicle is $218,000 and Emerald SES are currently seeking a $100,000 grant from the Victorian Government, this still leaves us with $118,000 to raise.

Help us raise $118,000!!

There have been many enhancements in the design and manufacture of rescue vehicles as well as trucks in general over the last 15 years. This new truck will bring us up to date in safety and features, some of which are listed below.

  • Passenger safety, making it safer for volunteers to respond to the Community in a time of need.
  • All wheel drive, giving increased grip and control under all weather conditions, as well as providing an increased ability to navigate steep driveways and rough roads.
  • The equipment storage area will have state of the art racking and shelves making it OH&S compliant to modern day standards.
  • Equipped with onboard lighting and power increasing capabilities to assist other emergency services as well as making it safer at night for crews attending to SES Emergencies.

The Rotary Club is proud to help assistance in raising the Funds for this much needed community resource.

Your donation will assist Emerald SES to continue it valued work in the community to help keep its community safe.
