Dear friends,

It was mentioned to me last week, that if you want a drought to break, then hold a Rotary outdoor event.

Despite the threat of rain, our organising committee promoted and delivered a fabulous event, and through their efforts, we had more than double the number of display cars from last year. This was an excellent result, and I must thank Ian Ash and his committee for their efforts. The inclusion of a band was a great initiative, and engaging RC Belgrave members to staff the BBQ, and local Scouts to assist with spectator parking was a great way to broaden our appeal within the local community. Ian will update the club on the final numbers in a week or two.

On Tuesday evening, our Emerald Lake Park social BBQ was again washed out. This is the second time this has happened in three months, and fortunately the Paradise Hotel was able to accommodate twenty of our members in the Clematis Room. A big thankyou to Hayley for our last minute call for help.

Then on Friday, members attended the Emerald Primary School to assist the EarlyAct club with their Clean Up Australia project at Puffing Billy Park. Looking forward to this Sunday, we have another Clean Up Australia day activity at Hogans Park (Emerald Scouts Hall) which is organised by Vicki. We'll meet at 10:00am, then at noon have a BBQ lunch with activities finishing around 1:00pm.
Please join us if you can and wear your Rotary shirt.

On Tuesday 3rd March, we have another busy night with Lyn Stubbs talking to us about 'caring in the community.' Lynn has asked that if anyone has unwanted men's clothes, sleeping bags, blankets, men's runners / shoes or toiletries, if they could please bring them on the night. We will also be presenting our Rotary Kids Fun Run cheque to Eastern Health.

All in all, another busy week.

Rotary Snippet - Supporting the Environment

Our Planned poolside party was moved to the Clematis Pub due to the inclement weather.

Gembrook Classic & Custom Car Show and Swap Meet

Thank you to everyone who help on the day and the Belgrave RC for manning the BBQ.
We managed to avoid the down pour later in the afternoon.

Clean Up Australia Day this Sunday 1st March 2026

The club will repeat last year’s successful model:
Working alongside Scouts and a local Landcare group.
  A few hours of hands-on community clean-up.
Members are encouraged to wear Rotary shirts and participate.

 EarlyAct
Our fabulous EarlyAct crew are doing their bit for Clean Up Australia Day Friday 27th at Emerald primary   school and surrounds.

  Caring in the Community
On March 3rd we are having talk given by Lyn Stubbs who, in her spare time, cares for the disenfranchised,   homeless and needy people of our community. Whilst we may be able to help her with funds, she would   also appreciate any clothing etc that you may have lying around...
Men's clothes, sleeping bags, blankets, men's shoes, runners particularly, backpacks or toiletries, if you   have anything lying around could please bring them on the night.
