- Been with Bendigo for over 22 years having worked at ANZ
- Andrew has been a Branch Manager since 2013
- Now he is Manager of Upway, Belgrave, Cockatoo, Emerald and Marysville
- Technology is moving banking along especially since COVID – NAB are closing down in Emerald.Bendigo still want branches and want to meet clients face to face

- Internet banking helps you keep up to date with your accounts and transactions
- SMS Scams –
- Include link/s to fraudulent website
- Someone pretending to be a friend or family member
- How to spot a scam
- Sense of urgency – act now something overdue, account suspended etc
- Message from a number you do not recognise
- Banks will never ask you to click on a link in an SMS message – DO NOT CLICK ON ANY LINKS IN MESSAGES FROM BANKS
- Bendigo bank is aware of phishing campaigns
- Fake Bendigo Bank SMS Messages
- SMS alert prior to a cold call scam – these use alpha tags to make messages appear valid
- Mum or Dad needing money or daughter asking to transfer money across
- Can ring you up pretending to eg by the ATO – people can get easily tricked into these type of scams
Bank tellers will undertake due diligence in regard to transfer of funds when you are in the bank so please assist them.
Let the bank know asap if you think you have been the subject of a scam
The longer you leave it the harder it is to get the money back
How to protect yourself – some tips
- Don’t be pressured into taking action
- Don’t click on links
- Contact the person/family member you think the message is from
- Banks never ask for passwords, pins or personal information or remote access to computer
- Don’t open attachments
- Get in contact with the bank if in doubt
- Parcel deliver scam are common
- Charity scams are common
- Flight booking scams are also common
The key is not to give your password or key out
Last 6-7 years $6.75 mill has been given back to the community

- Bendigo Bank has supported the run by providing marquees so we are very grateful!
Youth – PP PHF Marcus Adams
- Need a friend to assist Carol Cain at Breakfast Club – 8-9 on Friday
- EarlyAct - Kerith and Paula assisting – last meeting looked for leaders and we have the application forms back.Every student has ticked every box!! Don’t envy the team of selectors
- Leadership Assembly at Emerald Secondary College – Marcus has been invited to attend tomorrow
- Rotary Sailing Challenge – a student from year 10 at Emerald Secondary College.Roy Bowyer is the mentor for the program.2 other students from Emerald have also applied, as we may also be their sponsoring club.Opening ceremony will take place.
- Adam – packing up the playground equipment – run by Nunawading – putting playground equipment into containers to go to East Timor.
Community – Ian Ash
- Ian and Roy assisted a local lady with her garden clear up.
- Lady lived near the footy ground 3 – 4 large trees had come done, family were not young.
- Roy had brand new chain saw (that got wedged after 3 hours)
- Lady was grateful and broke down in tears several times – it was a privilege and a pleasure to help her
