Dear friends,

What a fabulous way to kick off our monthly fellowship event with a Christmas in July celebration. Many thanks to Catherine and Emma for organising the evening, and a special thank you to Catherine for opening her home to all of us. All members and guests embraced the Christmas theme, with many wearing their finest season outfits whilst enjoying traditional Christmas fare. I've always said that fellowship is the key to a successful club as it provides the opportunity for members and their families to engage in a social setting, thus building lasting friendships.

Last week was also the end of this years Train of Lights event held over 18 consecutive nights. This event is well supported by our members, and we had 44 members and family, over multiple shifts, assist us in selling sausages for Puffing Billy Railway, thus raising funds for our club. Our co-chairs of the organising sub-committee, Toni-Anne, Roy, John H., and Rowan, will speak more about this on Tuesday.

Our club is currently fielding a number of membership enquiries emanating from the June 'Rotary Reveal' night, and we are very fortunate to be have prospective members join us every Tuesday. Please introduce yourself, make them feel welcome, and show them that Rotary, and our Club, is doing 'good in the world'. I believe that growth and diversity in membership is vitally important for the health of our club; we are stronger together.

It's our week 5 designated Club Fireside Chat this Tuesday, and as such, I'll be your guest speaker, presenting my 'Behind the Badge' talk. We will also update everyone on the upcoming District Conference which will be held in Hobart from the 13th to 15th March, 2026.

Rotary Snippet -
Rotary Fellowships, of which there are more than eighty, are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance your Rotary experience. A few of us are members of the gin fellowship, others the skiing fellowship, but not both, for obvious reasons....

Yours in Rotary,

Kind Regards,

Peter
