- Jonathan is an Occ Therapist – interest was mental health
- Interested in leading healthcare teams – how a patient works through the healthcare space in a GP environment – looking at improving that environment.
- The Past – in 50’s and 60’ patients wanted a more patient-centred model of care and less of a dictatorship – to create a inviting space and collaboration on care.General practice is slow to change.

REGIONALISATION DISTRICT REPRESENTATIVE
ROTARY REGIONALISATION PILOT
The Regionalisation Pilot project has now been approved by RI and the implementation phase is being rolled out. The G- Trains from both Districts have been reviewing the continuing need for the role of Regionalisation District Representatives (RDRs) and possible future roles in the implementation phase.
As a result, Districts 9810 and 9820 are currently seeking expressions of interest for a Regionalisation District Representative. The role will lead engagement and communication regarding the Regionalisation Pilot project as the implementation phase is being rolled out and inform clubs, Rotarians, and Rotaractors across our Districts.
The role is considered to have ongoing relevance and importance for the continuing communication strategies across all Districts as the Regional Pilot develops and progresses and is envisaged to continue for the period of the pilot, a period of 2/3 years and will continue under the guidance of the District 9815 Governor, Colin Byron in 2024/25.
The incumbent will be given support and training and be part of the broader team of representatives across the zone.
The RDR will work closely with the District G- Trains and add their ideas and feedback to the decision-making process within the District.
It would be beneficial to recruit several assistant RDRs from across the 2 Districts, who will follow the communication lead and directions of the RDR in cooperation with the District -G-Trains to maximise communication and support opportunities.
Regionalisation conversations will continue across our 2 Districts as possible innovations are discussed and potentially implemented. Ensuring that communication channels with all Districts remain easy and open will maximise feedback in all directions and ensure that all Rotarians and Rotaractors can discuss and contribute as the project develops in the coming time frame.
RDR – Role and responsibilities
The Regionalisation District Representative for the implementation phase (the next 2-3yrs):
- Will be nominated by the District G-Trains, who may consider current RDRs and alternates.
- Maybe a member of the District G-Trains is up to district’s discretion but must not interfere with the governor's duties.
- Will work with the District G-Trains, other RDRs and Project communications team.
- Will fulfil this role in addition to any other Rotary positions held.
- Will remain in the role for the duration of the Regionalisation Pilot, a period of 2-3 years.
- Will be a member keen to be part of the decision-making and communication processes within their districts.
- Needs to be forward-thinking and excited about the project.
- Will be responsible for forming a team within the 2 Districts to maximise communication and support opportunities.
- Will facilitate communications to and from members across the districts, potentially including attendance at and presentations to club meetings, ensuring updates from Project Communications Team are included in both district’s communications.
- Will consider the impact of proposed changes for their Districts and feed that information to the Project Communications Team.

By now you will have received an email from our Australia/New Zealand (Zone 8) RI Director Jessie Harman outlining the RI Boards approval for a Regionalisation Pilot for our Zone.
Your District G-Trains have been watching and monitoring this closely over the past year or so and now that there is a clear mandate from RI to proceed, has decided to appoint a joint Regionalisation District Representative and further to establish a joint D9815 District Regionalisation Committee.
This is an invitation for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Rotarians or Rotaractors to consider applying for the Role of Regionalisation District Representative for the joint Districts of 9810 and 9820. Please refer to the attached document for details.
Applications are to be received by close of business Friday 27th May.

The Story of Bowel Scan Kits
Back when Graham Chiverton was DG
They passed on the website and instructions on ordering Kits to all the participating chemists so that any one who wanted one could ask a Chemist and it would be posted out to them
So we didn’t get involved any more
No one kept stock and Kits were kept fresh
People filled them in and posted them back in the return envelope
Not very messy either paint brushes were supplied and all they needed was a sample of water close to the stool
Very sensitive test to trace of blood

Dear ROTARY CLUB OF EMERALD AND DISTRICT
I am writing to you to thank your Club for your recent generous donation to ShelterBox. It is the kindness and thoughtfulness of people like you who help us do our job in bringing some hope and returning dignity to many others around the world who have lost their homes and most possessions through disaster or conflict.
As you know ShelterBox is Rotary's partner in disaster relief, a position we've held proudly for the last 11 years. This partnership has enabled us to be first responders, working with Rotary and our in country partner agencies, assisting those deprived of their homes by natural and man-made disasters. In my capacity as Chair of ShelterBox Australia I have the honour to oversight the operations of our organisation here in Australia, and to participate in collaboration with our other Affiliate ShelterBox organisations around the globe. I see first hand the work of our operations centre in the UK, and the deployments of our volunteers when a response is required. I also see the partnership with Rotary in action with many Rotarians in affected countries assisting in the delivery and distribution of our aid.
We continue to respond with distributions in both Türkiye and Syria post the recent earthquake, while also continuing our work in Ukraine, Pakistan, and Yemen.
On behalf of ShelterBox and on behalf of the recipients who will benefit from your donation, I offer my heartfelt thanks. We look forward to your continued support as part of our global ShelterBox family.
