Hi all,

Love is in the air and for one night it’s not just directed to DG Ken. We love youse all 💙💙💙!!!

Friday night 9 of us glammed up and went to the Monash Children’s Hospital Gala Ball at the Palladium at Crown. What an incredible night with the gala raising over one million dollars for its foundation. Was a very moving event and a whole heap of fun.

Next morning we marketed in perfect conditions. Great number of stalls and as usual our members turned out in force.  Looking forward to hearing how it went!

This week we induct Allan Douglas with his family attending.  Always a special evening when a new member joins the fold.  John Ritchie will be presenting the toast to the elderly, and our committees will be reporting on what’s happening.

See you Tuesday.

Love Prezz

Last Week's Meeting

A big thank you to PP PHF Ian Ash for his notes from the meeting :)

Guests: James Bennett (All Access Holidays) and Allan Douglas
Allan Douglas’s membership application is in progress, expect to induct him next Tuesday.

Guest Speaker: James Bennett (All Access Holidays)

  • James worked in Special Needs Camps in the US when he was younger and got great personal satisfaction from this so joined a company similar to AAH in 2007.
  • Started his own niche business started in 2017 to provide supportive travel for people with a wide variety of disabilities
  • It provides transport, care and accommodation
  • Staff primarily comprised of ex-nurses and those experienced with the disability sector – usually women
  • Based in Victoria but do holidays countrywide and sometimes overseas (e.g. Japan)
  • Extremely hard to find truly “accessible” accommodation but after having done this now for 6 years, pretty good at finding this
  • Groups typically comprise 4-12 people
  • People often rebook with AAH
  • Some ‘interesting’ excursions including one to a nudist resort
  • AAH has its own retreat for disabled people on Philip Island which is used regularly
