Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Reg is the inaugural Chair of DEI and Liz is on the District committee as well.

• Reg sees diversity as a club profile matching the community you live in reflecting the demography
• Equity – allows everyone to have a fair go, it isn’t about everyone being equal. Its about creating an environment that allows equal opportunity.
• Inclusion is really about acceptance and involving all without prejudice.

Members broke off into discussion groups about the topic and looked at what is working and what isn’t and why.

• We are starting from scratch and had a kick off meeting on Sunday and Ian is grateful to the members of the committee who have stepped up and are undertaking a lot of work in a short timeframe.
• Plans are now being submitted to Council and the Gembrook Reserve Committee are discussing the date on 2 October – once that is confirmed we can really get going.
• Andrew, Roy and Ian went to the site and will get the plan ready. Thanks to Benji for creating the plans
• Peter Brock is coordinating external communication technology
• Rowan – is coordinating the Swap Meet stalls – please have a think if you know anyone who may want to be part of the event. 
• Risk Management is underway by Ian 
• Kris is coordinating PR and marketing
• We are making great progress as a team!!!

Urchick and held at the Hilton Istanbul Bomonti Hotel & Conference Center, the conference will also recognize Rotary’s contributions to advancing peace through our peace and conflict resolution area of focus and our Rotary Peace Centers and mark the launch of our newest peace center in partnership with Bahçeşehir University in Istanbul.
