Hi everyone

 

Cheers! To everyone who joined us at Elevation on Emerald for the Cocktail social evening. It was an entertaining evening presented by a Master-Mixologist.  And yes, we indulged in the epic creations – big time.  There were more cocktails to sample than we expected and more food than we could manage, but hey us Rotarians just get the job done! Great to have Gus & Rebecca from Belgrave Rotary join us & congratulations with winning the raffle prize – pity the other Belgrave members didn’t make it. I was surprised that I didn’t have a hangover but am sure a few did. Well done Kelly – a great social,

 

Continuing with our Social activities, Roy & Ali Bowyer are happy to host a 3^rd time lucky Burnt Chop at their home on Tuesday 26^th April (day after Anzac Day)  – keep the date free. Since they last held a Burnt Chop, they have carried out many more renovations on their property so we will be able to check out the huge garage and work shop.

 

Before we hit daylight saving Honorary member Peter Hadwen plans to attend our next meeting – the journey along Wellington Road is not a good one at night. Peter is always happy to assist at daytime events so please keep that in mind. Colin Brown has been able to attend the last few meetings so now we just need Martin Buoncristiani to come along and all 3 Honorary members will have attended.

 

John Ritchie (who now lives in Monbulk) advised that there was to be a Car Show in Monbulk last Sunday, so Roy was able to check it out and managed to meet up with the Chair of the Organising Committee and will be meeting up with him in the near future.  Hopefully this will assist with the next All American.

 

The Salvation Army Red Shield Appeal have contacted me. They have enquired if we could assist by collecting funds on Saturday 28th May at two static sites in town – possibly outside Woolworths and somewhere in the township. They will need   two volunteers running from 9am – 11am, followed by a second shift from 11am to 1pm, therefore requiring four volunteers for each location. Nearer the time I will send out a request for volunteers.

 

I am just awaiting an OK from the Woolworth’s Manager Mark Doffetter that we can use his foyer to run an Easter Raffle.  Kris and the fundraising team have the tickets printed and are just finalising two of the prizes. We will sell tickets at our Easter market too. The Christmas Raffle was successful and hopefully this one will be as well supported.

 

Finally, only a few more sleeps and we are at Conference. Gayle & Lyn are so excited and happy with our “Famous Family” outfits. Can’t wait to see us all in our winning costumes! Meanwhile I am already thinking about Conference 2023.  Even though it is a year off I will be making enquiries as to who thinks they will be attending as with accommodation it is always first in best dressed.
