A lively Club Assembly and what a lot we have going on!!
We welcomed Sue Tucker from Advance Security the company that has supported the Kids Fun Run With Thomas for a lot of years by making sure all the set up is safe overnight on the Saturday before the event on the Sunday. Chairman John Henderson presented Sue with a letter and a certificate of appreciation.
Marcus provided an update on PP PHF Chris Adams after his accident whilst fishing with 'the boys' we learnt he was luck to get away with the injuries he sustained and that he is very sore but on the mend slowly.
Tonight was Peter Brock's last evening with the club before he heads off to Singapore for work. We will miss Peter as a hard-working and valued member of the club as well as a friend to many members but wish him every success on his new venture. I am sure he will keep in touch and if we are passing through Singapore members will stop to say hello!
Committee Chair Reports
Kids Fun Run With Thomas
Chairman John Henderson reported that we should be able to donate $50,000 to research at the Monash Children's Hospital and thanked every member of the committee for their support and hard work throughout the year.
The Kids themselves raised $20,200 and sponsors kindly supported the event to the value of $22,400. The difference was made up from registration, the market stall fees and sales on the day.
The Sponsors of the event - Puffing Billy Railway, Ferntree Gully Motor Group, Barry Plant - Mitre 10 for their sponsorship and so much more, The Wholesome Food Company and Thats Right Bookkeeping.

- PP PHF Ian Wakefield for his role as Vice Chairperson and his relationships around the event and past knowledge
- PP PHF Kris Ash for her role as Secretary and the work she did to help raise funds via the Everydayhero platform
- PP PHF Lorna Shaw for her tireless work as Treasurer and registration guru and keeping us all on track with the finances
- PP PHF John Shaw for all his assistance liaising with Puffing Billy Railways.
- Shalini Penny for her work on Marketing and PR and working with Monash Children's Hospital, the sponsors and local press.
- Kelly McAllister for the amazing showbags this year (as anyone who has done the role will know this isn't an easy job)
- Sangeeta Bajaj and John Koenders for their work coordinating the market
- Aneesh Bajaj for all the work on Facebook and design
- PHF Marcus Adams for taking on Operations in his quiet efficient way again this year - so much gets organised behind the scenes that makes the day run like clockwork
- Richard Gaunt for looking after manpower and staffing
- PHF Tom Watson for all the many tasks he took up to assist the committee as a whole
The Rotary Club is very grateful for the hard work and leadership John Henderson provided - the committee ran smoothly and he took on a lot of work around each committee member as well as visiting 13 schools in total with Arty.
John has kindly offered to be Chairperson again next year for the Kids Fun Run With Thomas and a lot of the Committee will stay on to assist him. If you would like to be involved please do reach out to John - more hands make light work!!

Youth Committee - PP PHF Tina McInerney
A very busy committee at the moment!
- This coming Friday 13th Lyn Beckwith will present the Marie Ranger Award at Macclesfield Primary School in memory of Marie.
- Tuesday 17th December - Les Smith Award will be presented
- Gembrook Primary Citizenship Award 19 December at 7.15
- Cockatoo Primary Citizenship Award in memory of little Arthur who was killed in a car with his father
- A tablet is being donated to each of the 4 primary schools for children with disabilities.
The aim is to bring Rotary into the Community this year and Youth are certainly making a difference in this regard.
Membership
In PP PHF Ken Miller's absence Ros Weadman outlined thoughts the committee had been discussing around an overarching marketing strategy for the club to present a unified message across all our activities in the community and in association with our events.
Vocational Service - PP PHF Ian Wakefield
- McLeod Murphy Award for a medical student - candidates being sought.
- Shine On Awards will not take place this year as those with disabilities do not seem to want to be singled out for excellence awards.
- Discussion is taking place in the committee around an Emerald Trade and Services Directory with paid advertising to be distributed via the Real Estate agencies etc.
- De'Angelo's winery visit on 5th February to the club.
Club Service - PP PHF Lorna Shaw
- Looking at updating constitution and by-laws will be discussed at the Board Meeting
- Program running smoothly under PP Ian Ash
- Need to set a date for a memorial award in honor of past club member Greg Gregory
- Notice Board, please let Lorna know of any suggestions

- Thanked Richard Gaunt for the stickers for the hamper hams
- Friday 13th - Carols by the Lake - selling lollies, many thanks to those volunteering to assist
