A: Being asked to attend a meeting by Marcus, for a start, but I wasn’t expecting much. I’d been to a Rotary meeting with my Dad 35 years earlier and hadn’t been at all inspired, I never went back. That first meeting I attended at Emerald was inspiring and welcoming and I was impressed.
Q: What is a personal Rotary highlight?
A: The conferences are a highlight, they are awesome. Great fun.
Q: As the club Sergeant at Arms, what was the favourite fine that you collected?
A: I fined the Acting Sergeant of the Emerald Police Station for Acting! And he paid! It was awesome, I loved it.
Q: What Rotary project (current or new) would you most like to be involved in in the future?
A: The Gembrook Custom and Classic Car Show, I love it.
Q: What is the best thing about being a member of this club?
A: The camaraderie and the friendships.
Q: What is a life philosophy or mantra that you live by?
A: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you. Or, Live and let Live.
Q: If you could have any superpower, what would you choose and why?
A: Foresight.
Q: If you could create a Rotary themed ice-cream, what would it be called and what would it taste like?
A: I would call it Fruits of Life, and it would taste fruity!
Q: What was your very first job and how much did it pay?
A: Stacking empty lemonade and coke bottles at the rear of a milk bar whilst swatting away the bees that were attracted to the sugar.
Q: Who is your dream guest speaker, dead or alive?
A: John Lennon
Q: When you are not busy completing Rotary tasks, what do you like to do in your spare time?
A: I like to build things and renovate them. I have lots of projects awaiting the time to do them.
Q: What is the biggest lesson life has taught you?
A: Never take the people close to you for granted.
