MEMBERSHIP
PP PHF Ken Miller presented some idea on Membership and the need to work as a club to grow our numbers by gaining new members and retaining current ones.
Pres Ian's target was set at 40 at the beginning of the year, we are currently sitting at 34 with John joining the club next week. We are not doing badly, since 1997 our club has had the second largest gain in the district (7) only the new club of Rowville is ahead of us and many are now actually in the negative.
If you don't ask someone to come along they can't say yes!!
Rotary average for female members is 30% - we are sitting at 42% (go girls!!!). and we as such we are one of the most progressive clubs in the District.
For reference, to be a District you need 1100 members, District 9810 is sitting at 1134 (having dropped to 1104 in recent times). Therefore we need to grow our membership base.
The Committees have been asked to undertake some work to think about avenues to invite members and we will also look at EarlyAct, InterAct and RoterAct. Ken mentioned the possibility of a Satellite Club to meet at a different time to our club and suggested visiting other clubs to see what others do.
We could consider reaching out to other sevice clubs, the CFA, SES, businesses, past members, alumni, guest speakers, sporting clubs, the library, scouts, guides etc etc. Let's start thinking outside the square.
It is also recognised that retention is important and we should carry on working as a club to grow our connections with each other - we have a good vibe already which is good.
A Survey will be sent to all club members this week to be completed anoymously - request that this is done asap so results can be collated.

A fun evening of celebration and relief after a very busy Kids Fun Run With Thomas weekend!
We had some great coverage in the Trader post with more stories about the fundraisers to come. Worth a read as they made a big difference to funds raised - as much as all the dollar sponsorships.
John Henderson thanked everyone for their support - you all know who you are so we will not list this out again!! Based on the fine session the burning question is 'should Sangeeta be placed on showbag duty again EVER!!??'
Marcus thanks John for his great leadership and the club was wrapped he has agreed to continue with the role of Chairperson of the Kids Fun Run With Thomas Committee for the 2019 event. (What a hero!!)

- Registrations x 549- $9,800,
- Train tickets x 761 - $3,800
- Sponsors - $17,400
- Kids fundraising through Everydayhero - $17,500
- Donuts $1000 (that is a lot of cooking!)
- Raffle and teddy bears $250
- Market - $340
- Pocket money gift $15.35
Rough guestimate of funds raised - $45,000.
