The great thing about the Presidential role is that you get the opportunity to be an integral part of some of  the most amazing events and last Tuesday’s Primary Schools Speech Contest was no exception.  The evening was superbly organised by Gloria, Vicki and the Youth Services team so full credit must go to them for what was both a successful and a highly enjoyable evening.  All the councillors made specific mention of how they enjoyed it and as always, the standard of the speakers was incredibly high.  If they can speak like that now,  imagine what they will be like in 10 years’ time?  The only concern I had on the night was when Kris announced (at a Primary School I may add) that the main raffle prize was a “man’s tool”, which did at least result in bids for additional tickets from several questionable areas.

 

Don’t forget at the next meeting on 30/10 that Norm Mauger will be dropping by to say a proper farewell, so well worth attending this.
