Dear friends,

Last Tuesday, being our monthly social night, more than 30 members braved the cold to participate in footy activities at the Gembrook Footy Ground. Wearing club colours, our members kicked for goal, played tunnel ball and performed handball drills. After the on field activities, we were treated to hot dogs & chips, followed by more activities in the club room.

These nights, although a lot of fun, wouldn't run as smoothly as they do, without the planning and effort of our social team, consisting of Emma, Catherine and Anna; not to mention the hands-on organisation skills of Toni-Anne, the cooking skills of Carol and the cleaning services provided by Gayle and Lyn! Well done to all.

This Tuesday is our Rotary Fireside Chat night and there is no better way to learn about our district, and Rotary's involvement in our community, than to hear these stories first hand from our District Governor, Peter Behm. This should be a special night for all members.

I've been told that we will also have members attending from other clubs, so please, as always, make them feel welcome.

For those members walking on Sunday, we are walking from the Emerald Hub to Gembrook. We'll head off at 8:30am and have a late brunch at Spencers Store around 11:00am. After walking 15km, we'll need a sit down.

Yours in Rotary,

Peter
Rotary Snippet - End Polio Now (EPN)

End Polio Now is the Rotary's global campaign to eradicate polio which is a paralyzing disease that is preventable by vaccination but still poses a risk to children worldwide, particularly in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Rotary provides significant funding, volunteer hours, and advocacy to support the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, which has reduced polio cases by over 99.9% and successfully eliminated the virus from most countries.

In order to confirm numbers for meetings at the pub, please ensure that you communicate the following to PP PHF Lorna:
  • notify if NOT attending by 12 noon on the MONDAY before the meeting
  • and notify if bringing guests or visitor
  • notify at any time about future absences and holidays.
Thank You!
