Volunteer With Us

Why not come along and help!
Volunteers Welcome
The Rotary Club of Emerald & District undertakes a range of events and projects, primarily in the local area.
If you don't have a lot of time but would like to become involved in helping the local community or with some of our events, we'd love to hear from you.
At any one time there are more options than listed on this page so please reach out to Kris Ash, Membership Chair, on 0412 399 001 to discuss your particular area of interest and the skills and experience you have.
Of course, many hands make light work, so just helping out with the hands-on work we do would be of immense value!

Kids Fun Run With Puffing Billy
Assistance is needed in the areas of operations, marketing and PR, sponsorship management, showbag organisation, registration, managing the market stall area and also with hands-on assistance on the day.
The inaugural Kids Fun Run was held in October 2002. The annual event has grown to become the signature fundraiser for the Rotary Club of Emerald & District Inc. raising over $812,250 since its inception.
In keeping with the Fun Run’s theme of ‘Kids Helping Kids’, all of the money raised has been donated to projects supporting and assisting children. The Fun Run is structured around 5 events, where kids aged 3 to 12 years, run against Puffing Billy.
The Committee starts preparing in earnest from February onwards for the event in November.

All American Car Display & Swap Meet
Assistance is needed in the areas of operations, marketing and PR, sponsorship management
organisation of the Swap Meet and also with hands-on assistance on the day.
The All American Car Display and Swap Meet is a much loved event that takes place in February at the Gembrook Recreation Reserve. We are looking forward celebrating the 30th anniversary in 2026!
The committee is a great team of people who work to make the event the continued success it is today. With up to 800 cars and over 1000 spectators, the All American raises much needed funds that support local and international Rotary projects.

Debutante Ball
Assistance is needed in organising the evening and coordination the dance lessons for the young people. Registration of debutantes and their partners as well as family bookings for the night are also managed by this small committee.
The annual Debutante Ball has been organised by the Rotary for 35 years and is a highlight in the Emerald Secondary School calendar.
This wonderful evening of glamour and fancy footwork takes a bit of organisation, but the night is a great reward for all the hard work as you see the debutantes and their partners swirl around the room watched by tables of proud family members.
Funds raised support Rotary projects.

The Rotary Club has great fun making a difference and all volunteers are warmly welcomed.
We have areas of focus that include:
- work to assist in the local community,
- support of overseas projects including Polio eradication
- environmental and sustainability projects
- partnering with the business community to leverage our impact and to recognise excellence
- supporting the young people in our area and overseas with strong links to our local education institutes and child and maternal health projects abroad
